GUIN, ALABAMA: C3 of Northwest Alabama, the areas three-county economic development organization (representing Fayette, Lamar, and Marion Counties) is pleased to announce that their new website can now be found online at www.NorthwestAlabamaEDA.org. The purpose of the website is to market the regions attractiveness and business advantages to those who are considering locating, relocating, expanding or starting a business. David Thornell, C3’s President and CEO stated, “We are delighted that the site is now live, as most prospective companies and site selection consultants begin their search for new project locations online. The domain name was chosen to make it easier for these customers to find us as it gives our general location followed by “eda,” which is a very common abbreviation for economic development authorities, or in our case, “alliance.” We felt that this domain name gives us an identity that will be easily found, since C3 is our official name, but outsiders would never think of searching for an economic development website touting Northwest Alabama by typing in “C3.” The website gives those customers that we seek to educate and influence another source of learning about what we have to offer them. Our primary job is to package and promote the area as a desirable product so those wanting to start or grow a business will consider locating in our three counties, to invest and create jobs. Renee’ Shirley, C3’s Director of Marketing and Membership added that “Although we are proud that the site is now live, it will never be completely finished, as we will be making frequent changes, updates and additions to make it a premier resource for companies in the process of site selection or relocation. If anyone in the area has a suggested edit, I hope they will use the “Contact Us” link on the site, or just e-mail me their ideas and comments at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ." The developer of the website is Red Sage Communications, a Decatur, Alabama firm that has extensive experience in creating websites for economic development purposes. Their client list also includes the EDA lead organizations in Morgan, Cherokee and Franklin Counties.
